Split Costs Agreement

____________________________ (hereafter "Party 1") and ______________________ (hereafter "Party 2," collectively "Roommates") hereby agree to the following:

The Roommates, both living at {address} and splitting various costs of living, desire to create a fair and equitable system of reimbursement for the course of their time living together. This agreement will cease to apply if they no longer cohabitate.

Party 1 will pay {utilities, rent, internet, etc.} every month on or before the due date. If Party 1 fails to make the payment, {he/she} will be solely responsible for paying any fines said failure incurs. Party 1 will notify Party 2 of {his/her} required amount within {number} days of the payment. Party 2 will reimburse Party 1 no later than {number} days after Party 1 pays for the utility.

Party 2 will pay {utilities, rent, internet, etc.} every month on or before the due date. If Party 2 fails to make the payment, {he/she} will be solely responsible for paying any fines said failure incurs. Party 2 will notify Party 1 of {his/her} required amount within {number} days of the payment. Party 1 will reimburse Party 2 no later than {number} days after Party 2 pays for the utility.

If either party fails to reimburse the other party for their half of a shared expense, {consequence}.

Party 1 agrees to reimburse Party 2 using {Venmo, checks, PayPal, cash, etc.}.

Party 2 agrees to reimburse Party 1 using {Venmo, checks, PayPal, cash, etc.}.

The Roommates agree to split the cost of {cleaning products, bathroom products, furniture, pet care, lawn services, etc.}. These will be considered shared items, usable at any time by both Roommates. If any shared items are not assigned to a party, purchasing the items shall be considered a mutual responsibility.

The Roommates agree NOT to split the cost of {groceries, toiletries, laundry care, etc.}. The Roommates will not treat these as shared items and will not use each other's items without asking. If the Roommates share such items with each other, neither party shall expect or request reimbursement.

In witness to their agreement to the terms of this contract, the parties affix their signatures below:
