College Dorm Agreement

Dorm Roommate Contract

_______________________ (hereafter “Student 1”) and _______________________ (hereafter “Student 2”), hereby agree to the following rules regarding their shared space in room number ______________ in the ____________________ dorm (hereafter “The Room”):

The Students will respect each other’s time and space. On {days} from {time} to {time}, neither Student shall have guests, music, or other loud distractions. On {days}, the Students agree to have lights out and general quiet after {time} at night and before {time} in the morning. On weekends and holidays, quiet times are {time} to {time}.

The Students agree to keep the dorm room locked whenever the room is empty, even when the Students are showering or in another communal room in the building. The Students are each responsible for keeping track of their own key at all times.

The two Students agree not to have/use {specific allergens or irritants such as perfume, certain foods, incense, etc.} in the room at any time.

The Students agree to split the cost of {items} for the room that will be equally available to both Students. At the end of the year, they will {sell the items and split the profits, buy each other out, etc.}. Shared items that are broken or lost will be paid for by the responsible party.

The Students agree not to touch or borrow the following items from each other: {items}.

The Students agree that these items may be borrowed with permission: {items}.

The Students agree that these items may be borrowed freely, without permission: {items}.

Neither Student shall engage in illegal behavior or behavior restricted by the dorm agreement with {School} while occupying the room.

Should any conflict arise between the Students, they shall contact the Resident Advisor for mediation.
