Carpool Agreement

_______________________ (hereafter “Driver 1”) and _______________________ (hereafter “Driver 2”) hereby agree to a mutually beneficial carpool arrangement {to/from} the location of {work/school}. {If transporting student or other third parties:} This agreement shall apply to _______________________ (hereafter “Passenger 1”) and _______________________ (hereafter “Passenger 2”).

The carpool schedule shall be as follows:

COSTS

The cost of gas shall be covered by each party, for their own car, with no special consideration given for wear-and-tear. Tolls, parking and other fees shall be {shared, alternated, covered by Driver/Passenger, etc.}.

CONSIDERATIONS

• Passengers must wait in the agreed-upon location, at the appointed time. If Passenger is not there, Driver will make {number} attempts to contact Passenger via cell phone before leaving after {number} minutes. Passenger is expected to notify Driver by {time period} if they do not need a ride on a future date.
• If either Driver is experiencing car trouble, they shall notify the other Driver as early as possible so that they can make alternative transportation arrangements.
• Both Drivers agree to maintain valid insurance and registration.
• Any missed rides, planned or unplanned, shall be made up by {policy/action}.
• The following activities will not be allowed while a Passenger: {smoking, eating messy foods, drinking, obscene gestures to motorists or pedestrians, certain topics of conversation, etc.}

Either party may terminate this agreement by {steps and conditions}.
