Agreement to Keep Property Separate

_____________________________ (hereafter "Partner 1") and ________________________ (hereafter "Partner 2"), living together but choosing to maintain separate property and assets, do hereby agree to the following:

That major items, including but not limited to property, houses and vehicles that have been bought, received, or inherited by one party shall remain the sole property of that party.

That each partner will remain individually responsible for upkeep, repairs, maintenance, fees, and charges made on their respective properties. That both partners will individually retain the rights to their respective properties' income, rent, and interest.

That each partner will be held solely responsible for his or her debts, liens, credits, and claims.

That each partner will maintain complete control of their separate bank accounts, stock/trade accounts, and credit accounts, along with all accompanying interest, payments, debt, and fees.

That both partners will pay equal amounts for {rent, food, maintenance, furnishings, fuel, etc.}. These payments will be made through {check exchange, PayPal, joint bank account, etc.}.

Partner 1's property that will remain {his/her} sole and separate property includes but is not limited to the following items: {List of items}.

Partner 2's property that will remain {his/her} sole and separate property includes but is not limited to the following items: {List of items}.

In the event that the partnership dissolves, each partner agrees to divide shared property in favor of the party who purchased the item. For shared purchases, both parties agree to divide property in the following manner: {Method}.
